Lazio have reignited interest in UNAM Pumas winger Cesar Huerta as they look to bolster their attack in the summer.
The Biancocelesti are preparing to lose Felipe Anderson in the summer, with the winger having decided to return to Brazil to play for Palmeiras, and Pedro could also depart, having just over a month left on his contract in the Italian capital.
Igor Tudor is expecting a number of reinforcements to arrive this summer as he works to kickstart a new project at Lazio, needing players suitable for his fast-moving attacking football, pushing Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani to look around for the right transfer targets.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio believe Huerta would be a low-cost and interesting option to add to Tudor’s squad this summer, appreciating the 23-year-old’s impressive work with UNAM Pumas.
Whilst his non-EU status complicates matters, his €6-7 million price tag makes him a convincing option for Lotito and Fabiani.

A previous report suggested that the Cleveland Browns want to start 2025 third-round draft pick Dillon Gabriel at quarterback for this coming Saturday's preseason game at the Philadelphia Eagles over 2025 fifth-rounder Shedeur Sanders as long as Gabriel is healthy enough to play at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. While speaking with reporters ahead of Wednesday's joint practice involving the clubs, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Gabriel began the day on track to start Saturday's contest. "The plan was always to give both of those guys a start in the preseason, so we’ll see how it shakes out," Stefanski explained, as shared by Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. Neither Gabriel nor backup Kenny Pickett played in Cleveland's preseason opener at the Carolina Panthers on Friday as they continued to recover from lingering hamstring injuries. Sanders received the bulk of the meaningful reps in that game and completed 14-of-23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-10 win over Carolina. While Gabriel is doing 11-on-11 work during joint practices this week, Pickett remained relegated to 7-on-7 drills as of Wednesday. That said, FanDuel Sportsbook continued to list 40-year-old Joe Flacco as the betting favorite at -310 odds to be the Browns' starting quarterback for their Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals as of Wednesday. Pickett was at +360 odds, followed by Sanders at +1060. Gabriel was a +1800 underdog to get the nod for the Cincinnati matchup at that time. Gabriel began Wednesday as the Browns' unofficial QB3 ahead of Sanders. Meanwhile, Sanders did not get any reps in the opening few periods of the Browns' joint practice with the Eagles on Wednesday morning after suffering an oblique injury. Earlier in the month, the former Colorado star missed some practice time due to arm soreness. Per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Stefanski added that he wants "to get through" Thursday before he finalizes his plans for the Philadelphia game. Unless Gabriel experiences a setback ahead of the weekend, it seems he will receive an opportunity to silence critics while serving as Cleveland's temporary QB1 against the Eagles.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have brought in a ton of new faces throughout the 2025 offseason, as the organization seemed willing to spend a bunch in order to turn the franchise into a true contender. The major additions included players like Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Darius Slay, but there were other new guys brought into the fold that should be able to contribute. This includes the majority of the 2025 draft class, as well as smaller free agent additions like Brandin Echols, or even Malik Harrison. Pittsburgh signed Harrison to a two-year deal worth a total of $10 million with just over $4 million guaranteed at signing. He was never going to be one of the primary inside linebackers for Pittsburgh as the organization rosters both Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson, but there was some hope he could fill the role of being the run-stopper, similar to Elandon Roberts. Harrison is also expected to play a role on special teams, but insider Mark Kaboly had the newly acquired linebacker listed as a "loser" up until this point in training camp. "The free agent signing from Baltimore is a solid special teamer and a good downhill run stopper, but he didn’t show much in his coverage ability, which will limit how the Steelers can use him," Kaboly wrote. Essentially, Kaboly noticed a lack of versatility up to this point of the summer when it came to Harrison. Unfortunately for Harrison, that is an area where the other inside linebackers in Pittsburgh shine. Wilson and Queen are both able to play a role in stopping the run and can shine in coverage. Cole Holcomb is a reliable tackler who is getting used to playing again after missing the entire 2024 season, and he could wind up being better than Harrison in coverage. Harrison spent five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens where he started 34 games and recorded 174 total tackles. Now, Pittsburgh might be put in a spot where the organization is paying him $3.2 million in 2025 to only be on the field in running situations and special teams. Thankfully, Pittsburgh can get out of the deal following the 2025 season for a dead cap charge of just over $2 million. There is still time for Harrison to move up the ranks at inside linebacker, but he is going to have to put on quite a showing during the team's next two preseason games. Queen and Wilson being the primary starters seems to be set in stone, but Harrison is competing with Holcomb, Mark Robinson, Devin Harper, and Carson Bruener for positioning on the 53-man roster. Pittsburgh kept five inside linebackers on the team in 2024, so Harrison shouldn't be in danger of losing his roster spot. However, the organization certainly wants him to perform better moving forward. Steelers Could Break Intriguing Streak Under Omar Khan's Tenure The inside linebacker position is an interesting spot to analyze when it comes down to who is going to be on the final roster. Queen and Wilson are locks, Harrison probably is as well, but that is it. Holcomb is bouncing back from an injury and carries a cap hit of $3.6 million, and Robinson has been able to make plays on special teams. There is a world where Pittsburgh is going to have to cut seventh-round pick Carson Bruener, which would mark the first time in Omar Khan's time as general manager where the Steelers cut a draft pick. It will be interesting to see how the entire situation plays out, as Holcomb could also be traded for some additional draft capital if he performs well in the last two preseason contests.
The Packers have built a deep roster, loaded with young homegrown talent, and one of those playmakers is set to become a free agent at season’s end, but should be the franchise’s top priority to keep in the fold beyond 2025. Quay Walker, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie contract after posting 341 total tackles with 6.5 sacks and one interception returned for a touchdown through his first three seasons. Why Packers Extending Quay Walker is Vitally Important As high as the Packers are on second-year linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, keeping Walker in the fold could allow Green Bay to boast one of the most dominant linebacker duos in the league over the next several seasons. Bleacher Report NFL analyst Alex Ballentine suggests that extending Walker should be general manager Brian Gutekunst’s top priority. “Green Bay is a franchise that leans heavily into its draft and develop strategy,” Ballentine points out. “That works best when a club is able to reward highly achieving homegrown talent with contract extensions. The Packers declined the fifth-year option on Walker’s deal as a former first-round pick, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be interested in bringing him back on an extension. “Walker has been a highly productive starter. He hasn’t made a Pro Bowl yet, but he has finished with over 100 tackles in each season and had a career-high nine tackles for loss last season.” The Packers have done an outstanding job of identifying and developing young playmakers, and Walker has certainly done enough to remain a core piece of Green Bay’s defense.
After a post started circulating on social media that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was retiring, not only has the veteran said that’s a lie, there’s also apparently interest around the NFL for his services. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that OBJ has drawn interest from “several teams,” this offseason, despite being released mid-year in 2024 from the Miami Dolphins and not getting picked up by anyone else. He played in nine games for Miami, catching just nine passes on 18 targets for 55 yards. At 32 years old, OBJ probably won’t be dropping any jaws with miraculous catches on ‘Sunday Night Football,’ anymore, he could bring valuable experience to any young receiving corps. Which brings us to today’s quiz. At his peak, OBJ was one of the most explosive receivers in the NFL. With that being said, can you name the active NFL wide receivers with the most 140+ receiving-yard games in their career? Good luck! Did you like this quiz?
