Lazio have officially signed Daniel Maldini from Atalanta, on loan with an option to buy that can become an obligation if certain conditions are met, for a reported fee of €15.5m.
The clubs confirmed the agreement, the player underwent his medical and put pen to paper this afternoon.
According to reports including Goal, Lazio are paying €1m for the loan plus a further potential €500,000 in bonuses.
The option to buy is worth a further €14m, and can become an obligation if certain conditions are met during his six-month stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
He becomes the third signing of the January transfer window, after Kenneth Taylor from Ajax, and Petar Ratkov from RB Salzburg.
A product of the Milan youth academy, where he followed in the footsteps of father Paolo Maldini and grandfather Cesare, he had loan experiences at Spezia, Empoli and Monza before the sale to Monza for €6.5m in 2024.
Just six months later, Daniel was sold to Atalanta for €13m.
So far this season, Maldini has 11 competitive appearances for Atalanta, contributing one assist.
