Lazio have confirmed that experienced Spanish winger Pedro Rodríguez has signed a new contract with the club, keeping him in Biancoceleste colours until June 30, 2026.
The 37-year-old forward showed no signs of ageing after a successful season and has agreed to stay at the club for another season.
The former Barcelona and Chelsea star scored ten goals in 30 matches in the 2024-25 Serie A season, finishing as joint top scorer domestically for the Rome-based side tied with Valentín Castellanos. Pedro also picked up four goals and three assists in his twelve Europa League appearances this season, proving his importance to the club.
Pedro signed for the team on a free transfer in 2021 from arch-rivals Roma and has since made 176 appearances in all competitions.
The new deal comes after the return of Maurizio Sarri to the Biancocelesti, with the Italian head coach once again taking the reins in the capital.
Speaking in a statement on their official website, Lazio have said that Pedro “has been able to represent the values of experience, balance and dedication on and off the pitch.” Adding that “the renewal is part of a logic of continuity and practicality: Pedro’s experience and reliability will be a fundamental resource to face the next season with solidity.”
