Leeds United have managed to survive the drop to the Championship, having returned to the Premier League last summer.

Their 14th-place finish ensured their place in the top flight for next season, while the relegation battle will be decided with the final game of the season, as Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham are set to go down.

Leeds, much like Manchester United, are seemingly focusing on midfield recruitment this summer, with Danilho Doekhi from Union Berlin, Tanner Tessmann from Lyon and Leicester City’s Jordan James being key targets.

However, the side have already made one new signing ahead of the summer, in the form of 12-year-old Teiarnie Moore, who joins the women’s academy from Manchester United.

Taking to Instagram, the young central attacking midfielder and her development team confirmed the move, including the letter from Leeds United.

The post was captioned: “I started playing football when I was 7 years old, and ever since then I’ve worked hard to improve every part of my game.”

It continued: “After 5 years of hard work and dedication, I’m proud to announce that I’ve signed for the Leeds United U14s Academy.

“After attending trials at Leeds, I was offered a place in the academy when I turned 12. A dream come true and the start of a new journey. Can’t wait for what’s ahead!”

While Teiarnie Moore won’t be joining the women’s first squad for several years, her signing to the Under-14s age group shows a commitment from Leeds to be building the future of their women’s squad.
