Let’s get a result, we’re due one against them. Make it a Beautiful Sunday…
This afternoon we will take on theRangers at Hampden with a place in the Premier Sports cup final up for grabs, where a win (fingers crossed) will take us a step closer to retaining the trophy, and within touching distance of claiming the first silverware of the campaign.
Yesterday St Mirren booked their place in the final after a convincing win over Motherwell and will find out who their opponents will be back at Hampden Park on Sunday 14 December. Today is all about making sure that it’s Celtic the Paisley Saints will face.
After last week’s result and lethargic performance at Tynecastle and after losing at Dens Park the week before to a poor Dundee side, our chances of taking something from today looked rather bleak, but after a resounding win and display against Falkirk in midweek under the interim leadership of Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney, we can head to the national stadium with some plenty of confidence and optimism.
It will of course be tough, as our rivals very much like ourselves are under the guidance of a new manager and will be feeling just as rejuvenated after two domestic wins on the bounce.
We will however, head into the game as favourites, and it’s important we show the Celtic supporters and the country that we are still a side to be feared, by winning the game and booking our place in that final.
It should also be noted that we are due a win against our rivals after going through 2025 without a victory against them, which is totally unacceptable from our point of view. Especially when you consider the dire state the Ibrox side have been in, showing once more how standards had dropped under Brendan Rodgers in 2025 other than in the Champions League matches.
So hopefully today is the day. Let it be a very Beautiful Sunday.
Come on you Bhoys in Green! Let’s do them today!
