AC Milan are reportedly trying to secure Barcelona veteran Robert Lewandowski as a free agent when his contract expires in June 2026, and he is giving hope to the Rossoneri.
According to Sky Sport Deutschland, Lewandowski has rejected a proposal from Fenerbahce and is eager to continue playing at a high level next term.
This gives Milan hope they can beat the competition from the Saudi Pro League and a salary offer that they simply couldn’t match.
“I will soon be ready to decide which direction to take,” Lewandowski told TVP Sport, via Calciomercato.
“I will evaluate all the options. I don’t know where I’ll be or what I will want to do in a few months’ time.”
Milan already saw a similar approach prove successful for Luka Modric when his deal was allowed to run down at Real Madrid, as the 40-year-old Croatia international is showing he can still make an impact.
Now the same club hopes to do the same with Lewandowski, who will turn 38 when next season begins in August 2026.
He made the move from Bayern Munich to Barcelona for €45m in 2022 and scored seven goals in 12 appearances for the Blaugrana this season between LaLiga and Champions League.
