Strasbourg head coach Liam Rosenior is the hot favorite to become the next head coach of Chelsea F.C.
The 41-year-old has been in charge of Strasbourg since July 2024. He led the club to a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1 to end the 2024-25 season and qualified for the UEFA Conference League. His managerial prowess sparked Le Racing to reach the last 16 of the Coupe de France.
Strasbourg is currently seventh in Ligue 1 through 16 league matches and finished top of the group in the 2025–26 UEFA Conference League league phase to advance to the Round of 16. The Blue and Whites are set to face Avranches in the Coupe de France Round of 32 in mid-January.
Rosenior previously enjoyed success as head coach of Hull City, where he earned a nomination for the EFL Championship Manager of the Season Award.
He guided the Tigers to seventh place in the EFL Championship to finish the 2023-24 season, though the club missed the playoffs by three points. At season's end, he was sacked by Hull owner Acun Ilicali due to disagreements over the club’s playing style.
Rosenior replaced Wayne Rooney as manager of Derby County in an interim role in June 2022. He maintained a 58.3 winning percentage while in charge of the Rams. Derby relieved him of his duties as manager in September 2022 while he was still employed as the club searched for a permanent manager.
Should Rosenior be installed as Chelsea's next coach, he would become the third-youngest manager in the Premier League. He's gotten the most out of Strasbourg's young squad and could do the same for the Blues should he be given the managerial reins at Stamford Bridge.
