Messi was substituted off the pitch in the 11th minute and was replaced by FedericoRedondo. Many believed Messi suffered a hamstring injury, and rumors suggested the star to be out for around three to four weeks.
Inter Miami has yet to confirm the extent of Messi's injury, but an insider and ESPN Argentina contributor, Claudio Futbol, reveals details on the star's condition.
Details of Messi walking through the tunnel and towards the locker room on his own appear to be true, but it doesn't clear up whether his injury is severe or not.
According to Claudio Futbol, the injury appears to be some hamstring tenderness and some bruising. The time frame is unclear despite some suggesting the star to be out for around three to four weeks.
Miami Herald sports writer Michelle Kaufman suggests that Messi may have suffered a right upper thigh injury. If Messi's injury is to do with the hamstring, his participation in the Leagues Cup this year is likely over.
