Lionel Messi is in the middle of the MLS playoffs, but a rumor has emerged that places him back in Europe very soon.
Messi, 38, just extended his contract with Inter Miami until the end of 2028. However, there is a possibility that he could leave on loan during the inactive period in the United States.
According to journalist Zeki Uzundurukan, intermediaries offered Messi to Galatasaray of Turkey for four months.

"The agents offered Messi to Galatasaray for four months due to the MLS break," said the aforementioned journalist, before adding that "the yellow-red scouting team is closely following the situation of the star player."
According to Uzundurukan, the Turkish club's stance is clear: “We will pay the money".
While his immediate future is being defined, the Argentine star continues making history in MLS.
With his three goals against Nashville in the best-of-three playoff round, Messi reached 40 goals in a calendar year across all competitions as an MLS player.
He surpassed Dennis Bouanga (38 goals with LAFC, 2023) and Carlos Vela (38 goals with LAFC, 2019). He is the first Major League Soccer player in history to reach that number in a twelve-month period.
With his outstanding performances, the Argentine star also has the opportunity to win the season’s MVP award, and if he achieves it, he would become the only player in MLS history to win said recognition consecutively.
Leo Messi has already registered 32 goals in the current MLS season, combining the regular season and playoffs. He is above Denis Bouanga (26) from LAFC and Sam Surridge (25) from Nashville.
The Argentine just extended his contract with Inter Miami until the end of the 2028 season, so he is likely to continue breaking records in the United States for a good while.
