Liverpool are Winning the Transfer Wars

While everyone else seems to be squabbling over a handful of the same players, Liverpool have ruthlessly gone about their transfer business.

Transfer speculation is always rife at this time of the year. There’s no meaningful soccer games to write about until the new season starts – and that includes you, Club World Cup.

Transfer Rumors Galore

Bryan Mbeumo was definitely going to Manchester Utd until Tottenham hired Mbeumo’s Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, and now he might be persuaded otherwise.

If they can’t get Mbeumo then next on Man Utd’s shopping list is Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekikte who has also been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool.

Meanwhile Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly rejected Man Utd and favors Arsenal who in turn might be more interested in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

Deals Done

Compare and contrast with the quiet resolve of Liverpool under Arne Slot and Sporting Director, Richard Hughes. With a minimum of drama the sequence of events goes as follows. Here’s our shopping list; here’s our sales pitch; here’s our check book. Now sign here.

That’s led to the transfer coup of the summer in the $150m signing of German star Florian Wirtz, the swift capture of Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold at right back and the imminent arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth as an upgrade to the aging Andy Robertson.

And they may not be done yet with a center forward likely to join, funded by the sales of Nunez, Jota, Elliott and more. Will that signing be Newcastle's Alexander Isak? Well that would be pure speculation.
