Last summer, Liverpool made several statement signings, with the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak moving to Anfield.
Manchester United did the same, completely remodelling their attack, bringing in Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
However, The Red Devils are never just focused on the senior side, with constant consideration over bringin in new young talent.
As such, United’s academy recruitment is never far from the spotlight, especially when it starts to drift into rival territory, as it has with Liverpool’s Vincent Joseph.
Two posts on X have claimed that Manchester United are making a real push to land the Liverpool youngster.
In a post on X, @mufcacademy91 said: “Understand talks have been held with the representatives of Liverpool U18 talent Vincent Joseph.”
The post continued: “United are pushing strongly and are confident of landing him, having already invited him to Carrington earlier this year. One to really watch..”
That line was then backed up by Lewis Bower, who quoted the post, adding: “This is true: Joseph was at a Manchester United FA Youth Cup game and I am told with Manchester United ‘figures’.”
Bower also added: “Let’s remember these players are looking for the best career move. Liverpool may not be the best for Joseph. A lot can change. Joseph has option of going abroad.”
Vincent Joseph is a 16-year-old attacker who has been impressing in the Liverpool youth since 2018.
However, he’s also begun to impress on the international stage, starting to appear for the England Under-16s, despite being eligible to also play for Germany.
This isn’t the first time that United have been linked with the talented attack though, having previously given him a tour of Carrington back in January 2026.
If United do get this over the line, it would feel like another statement youth capture, joining the likes of Chido Obi, Samuel Lusale and Sekou Kone who all chose The Red Devils over other clubs.
