On Wednesday, Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg reported that Chelsea are pushing to reach a verbal agreement with Ekitiké and have already made initial contact with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The German club are still demanding €100 million, and it’s unclear whether the two sides will find common ground. Talks are ongoing, with the next steps already planned. Moreover, Plettenberg added that Liverpool are in the race, making it challenging for Chelsea.

CaughtOffside reported last month that Manchester United are ramping up efforts to sign another striker, with Ékitiké emerging as a top target for the summer. United are said to be in the advanced stages of internal planning for a formal bid and have already held positive talks with Ékitiké’s camp.
They’re preparing a serious offer as they look to add more firepower up front and ease the load on Rasmus Højlund. The initial bid is expected to be around €60 million (£50 million), though Eintracht Frankfurt are holding out for closer to €80–90 million (£67 million to £75.5 million) for the 22-year-old.
