In July, Ekitike completed his move to Anfield for an initial £69 million, with the potential for an additional £10 million in add-ons. Moreover, he signed a six-year contract, per ESPN. PSG benefited from the transfer thanks to a sell-on clause.
Still, Ekitike said he gained valuable experience at PSG, sharing his thoughts with reporters on Monday ahead of the Champions League clash with Galatasaray S.K.
“When I first played Champions League with PSG, I was young, I was on the bench, I was more watching,” Ekitike told reporters (h/t Empire of the Kop). “I would say now it’s my time – being someone who can be counted on to help the team to reach success in Champions League.”
