Amid the ongoing rumors, former English footballer Peter Crouch spoke with talkSPORT and noted that Liverpool needs to meet Salah’s demands to keep him for a few more years at Anfield.
“Yeah, he’s just been probably the best player in the Premier League for a number of years now,” Crouch told talkSPORT from Paddy Power’s ‘Paddy’s Perfect Challenge’ event.
“You’re not going to be able to replace his goals without spending hundreds of millions. I think you’ve got to probably give him what he wants. I think if it’s two or three years, I don’t see any sign of him slowing down. I think he’s going to guarantee you 20 to 30 goals a season in those three years.”
While recent rumors suggested PSG was pursuing Salah to bolster their attack, it’s now evident that no such discussions have taken place.
“I love Salah, also because he came from our part of the world,” PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told GIVE ME SPORT. “I am very proud of him, honestly, for what he’s done in the Premier League with Liverpool.
“And I have big respect for him and for Liverpool. So we never talked to him. Respect Liverpool and respect the player – he has a contract with Liverpool and we never talked to him.”
