One of the most important matches of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers is Germany's away game against Luxembourg. Germany cannot directly qualify for the World Cup with a win today against Luxembourg.

A win does push them closer to direct qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Germany is in Group A of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers with Slovakia, Northern Ireland, and Luxembourg.

Germany is at the top of the group with nine points, but is tied on points with Slovakia and three points ahead of Northern Ireland.

In the previous two World Cup qualifier matches, Germany defeated Luxembourg at home and Northern Ireland away. In the match against Luxembourg, David Raum, Joshua Kimmich, who scored two goals, and Serge Gnabry scored in Germany's 4-0 win at home.

Germany then played away from home when they took on Northern Ireland, where the Germans won 1-0 with a goal from Nick Woltemade.

Luxembourg has no chance to qualify for the World Cup after losing their four matches played. In October, Luxembourg lost 4-0 to Germany away from home and 2-0 to Slovakia away from home.
