English soccer club Chelsea defeated French team PSG 3-0 on Sunday in the FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Midfielder Cole Palmer scored twice during the triumph while he assisted Joao Pedro on the third goal. Furthermore, the shoutout win gives Chelsea their second tournament win after winning the 2021 Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, owners Todd Boehly and Mark Walter have won their first after purchasing the club in May 2022. The tandem are also co-owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers alongside NBA legend Magic Johnson, who congratulated them on the win.
“While I’m at it, congratulations to my other business partners Todd Boehly and Mark Walter on their soccer team Chelsea for beating PSG 3-0 and winning the FIFA Club World Cup,” the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame guard wrote on X Wednesday.

Johnson, Boehly and Walter have co-owned the Dodgers since 2012 and witnessed the MLB franchise win two World Series titles in 2020 and 2024. The trio helped make big key front office decisions to help the team acquire All-Stars such as Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani.
Johnson was also the Los Angeles Lakers, whom he played for from 1979-91 and in 1995-96. He was also the president of basketball operations from 2017-19. He helped make decisions for the historic NBA franchise alongside general manager Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss.
However, after Johnson stepped down Buss sold the team for approximately $10 billion to a group led by Walter, while the Buss family will keep a minority share of the Lakers, according to NBA insider Shams Charania on June 18.
