Jack Grealish is ready to swap Man City for Tottenham in the summer

Tottenham are looking to strengthen their attack in the summer after a disastrous domestic campaign. The Lilywhites managed to end the season on a high by winning the Europa League last month. But the historic achievement should not paper over the cracks that need addressing in the summer. The lack of performances and the injury crisis at the club has affected results on the pitch for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Many key players have severely underperformed for Spurs this season. Club captain Heung-Min Son endured a poor campaign as per his standards, and he also lost his place in the starting eleven midway through the season. It is fair to say that the South Korea international is way past his best now and the Lilywhites need to move on from him in the summer.

Another winger that could not make a meaningful impact on the pitch was Mathys Tel. However, the Bayern Munich loanee is still young and he has enough time to rectify his errors. Tel is learning his trade and it is important to note that he joined Spurs midway through the season. The 20-year-old has time to get better and reach his potential at N17 if he decides to stay beyond this summer.

Tottenham want to bring in Man City star Jack Grealish

There is no surprise that Tottenham are aiming to bring attacking reinforcements in the summer. With Heung-Min Son facing a steady decline and heading for a potential exit in the coming weeks , it is only right for Daniel Levy to sign a quality replacement as Spurs look to build on the Europa League success next season.

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City in the summer. Well, the Lilywhites have now received a major boost in their efforts to land the England international for next season. As per FootballTransfer, Grealish is open to the idea of joining Spurs after the North London club qualified for Champions League football for next season.

However, there are a few hurdles that Tottenham would have to cross to land the 29-year-old. Firstly, the Man City star’s salary demands will be a problem for the Lilywhites. The ex-Villa star earns approximately £300,000 per week and Spurs would find it tough to match those demands given their financial constraints. Another problem is fending off competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United for his signature.

For now, Spurs are leading the race to sign the Man City star in the summer and Grealish’s pre-existing relationship with Johan Lange would prove to be a decisive factor in landing the world-class winger next season. Many fans are still on the fence and cannot decide whether the 29-year-old would be good for the club or not.
