Napoli have always been in control of negotiations for Rasmus Hojlund, and the striker is set to join the Partenopei, leaving a 5% sell-on clause for Manchester United.
Manchester United forward Hojlund is set to join Napoli, as the two clubs are currently finalising the formal details before the player can undergo medical tests.
An Italian newspaper reported on Friday that RB Leipzig had overtaken Napoli in the race for Hojlund, but that was simply not true.
Napoli have always been in control of negotiations, knowing that both Hojlund and Manchester United were eager to complete the transfer.
Hojlund has always been Napoli’s priority target in attack since Romelu Lukaku’s injury.
Sources tell me that the Red Devils will also have a 5% sell-on clause on any future sale.
Now the deal is done, as just the final details are missing to complete the transfer formally.
In the meantime, Napoli return to action tonight, hosting Cagliari at the Stadio Maradona.
