Manchester United’s transfer window has picked up pace again, with the club closing in on a deal for Bryan Mbeumo after a lengthy negotiation process.
The two sides have been in talks for nearly two months, but they have now found common ground and finalised the details of the move.

On Friday, David Ornstein posted that United had agreed to sign Bryan Mbeumo for £65m up front plus an additional £6m in add-ons.
While it is more than what Ineos had initially hoped to spend, considering recent deals across the league, this could still turn out to be good value.
The payment structure also helps United’s financial planning. The fee will be spread over four instalments, with just £16.25m due this summer. This could give them more flexibility to make further signings without needing immediate player sales.
Adding Mbeumo was crucial for United this summer. He was one of their top priorities, and it took a while to finalise a deal that worked for everyone involved.
With Mbeumo expected to undergo his medical this weekend, the club’s recruitment team can now shift their focus to other areas.
Fabrizio Romano has reported what he’s hearing about Manchester United’s next steps following the completion of the Mbeumo transfer.
Romano indicated that the club are prioritising a new striker in the coming weeks. This move would complete an overhaul of the frontline that many fans have felt was long overdue.

The search for a new forward continues, with several names already linked to Old Trafford throughout this window.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano expanded on why finding a striker is such a pressing matter for United right now.
Initially, Manchester United were keen on bringing in Liam Delap to lead their attack. However, the young forward chose to join Chelsea, where he’s expected to play a backup role behind Joao Pedro.
This led United to consider other options, with Benjamin Sesko becoming a target after Arsenal moved for Viktor Gyokeres instead.
Jean-Philippe Mateta has also been consistently linked and could provide a more cost-effective short-term solution.
Nicolas Jackson is another name on the list if the price is right, and Ollie Watkins could become available if he decides to move on from Aston Villa this summer.
Any of these signings would likely be an improvement over Rasmus Hojlund in his current form, so there’s hope within the club that a new striker will be signed soon.
