Manchester City could be strengthened for their clash with Tottenham

Manchester City have missed Erling Haaland in their past two matches against Real Madrid and Liverpool. City’s attack has lacked Haaland’s presence and his goal-scoring prowess during those two games. Speaking after his team’s defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday Pep Guardiola told the media he was hopeful of having Haaland back for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Tottenham. It now appears that Haaland has trained ahead of the fixture. That is welcome news for Pep Guardiola’s side.

CityXtra has reported via X that Haaland trained as normal yesterday ahead of the crucial Premier League fixture. The CityXtra report follows on from images shared on mancity.com yesterday. Haaland was pictured training alongside Ruben Dias.

It would be a massive boost for Manchester City to have Erling Haaland back on the pitch. He has been missed in each of Manchester City’s past two matches. His absence particularly stood out during City’s 2-nil defeat to Liverpool on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s side had the possession they needed against Arne Slot’s side. They just lacked any cutting-edge or target man in the final third. Jeremy Doku and Savinho got themselves into good positions but they didn’t have anyone to pick out with their crosses at the Etihad. You do feel that the game may have played out differently if Haaland was fit enough to play.

A further update on Erling Haaland’s fitness is expected when Pep Guardiola faces the media later today. But all indications are that he should be fit to face Spurs.
