Manchester City's Pep Guardiola says he shouts at players too much

Premier League leaders Manchester City have won 19 straight games and hold a 10-point lead over rivals Manchester United atop the table. While City manager Pep Guardiola is widely respected as one of the brightest minds in all of world football, he admitted during a Friday news conference that he isn't flawless.

"Sometimes I shout at my players and I should not do it but I cannot control it," Guardiola explained, per Rob Dawson of ESPN. "When I was a player it was like this, too; it's the way I am. I don't want to be fake to myself. Sometimes I'm more calm. It depends. I do it because I love my job, I enjoy being a manager and I want to be better. I want to try to reach the team every day to do it better."

The 50-year-old added that his players, not he, deserve the credit for his team's recent run of form.

"I never in my 12 years as manager scored a goal, never," he said. "I never saved a penalty, never. The artists are the players. All we can do is help them."

City have showed no signs of slowing down over several competitions and are favorites to hoist multiple trophies this spring. Whether Guardiola wants to admit it or not, he's largely responsible for where the English giants are as they prepare to face West Ham on Saturday.
