Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho’s move to Juventus is still not progressing

Last season was nothing short of a nightmare for Manchester United. A 15th-place finish in the Premier League, a Europa League final defeat to Spurs, and failure to qualify for any European competition, it was a major blow for a club with ambitions of challenging for titles. Ruben Amorim was appointed manager midway through the season, but the change did not produce immediate results. A fresh start was clearly needed ahead of the new season, and changes have come quickly in this summer’s transfer window.

United have brought in high-profile signings such as Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, along with promising youngster Diogo Leon. The most significant move is reportedly the arrival of Benjamin Sesko, as Rasmus Hojlund endured a hugely disappointing season and the club was desperate for a clinical young striker. Amorim now has a stronger attacking unit, but he is also determined to move on players who do not fit his vision.

Jadon Sancho transfer story

One such player is Jadon Sancho. According to GIVEMESPORT, United are in talks to send the winger to Juventus, but the deal is currently at a standstill. Sancho spent last season on loan at Chelsea, but the West London club terminated the arrangement early, paying a £5 million penalty clause. This summer, the 25-year-old was left out of the USA pre-season tour, with Amorim making it clear that Sancho has no future in his squad.

Juventus were keen to finalise the deal this week, but reports now suggest Borussia Dortmund could also be in the picture. Sancho is said to have a “safety option” to return to Dortmund and remains relaxed despite the uncertainty surrounding a move to Italy. The Englishman is confident a transfer will be secured before the September 1 deadline. Earlier reports linked him with a return to the Bundesliga side, with Sancho reportedly willing to take a significant pay cut to make it happen.

Our Opinion:

Whether Sancho ends up at Juventus or Dortmund is, in our opinion, irrelevant. What matters is that United secure a permanent deal. His time at Old Trafford has been underwhelming, and it’s clear his heart is no longer at the club. Dortmund remains his preferred destination, as it’s where he produced his best football and enjoyed the unwavering support of the fans.

From United’s standpoint, this needs to be a clean break. Amorim requires players fully committed to the project, and Sancho no longer fits that bill. The best outcome for all parties is a permanent exit, with United getting a fair fee and Sancho getting the fresh start he needs.
