Manchester United have revealed the fee that they are demanding for Rasmus Hojlund this summer amid interest from Inter Milan. The Red Devils have transfer-listed many overly paid players that former manager Erik ten Hag signed during his underwhelming tenure.
The Red Devils surprised everyone in the summer of 2023 when they opted to sign Hojlund over available Harry Kane. United opted to focus on a player who could dominate at Old Trafford for many years instead of the Englishman.
However, Kane has enjoyed an incredible tenure at Bayern Munich since that time compared to Hojlund’s struggle at Man United. The Red Devils signed Joshua Zirkzee last summer to help Hojlund with competition, but both players struggled to establish themselves.
As Ruben Amorim succeeded Ten Hag last summer, he has made ruthless changes and demanded players who meet his expectations. United signed Hojlund for £72m from Atalanta, but they are willing to sell the Denmark star to bolster their budget.
According to the Italian publication Interlive.it, Man United have put a valuation of around £34.5m (€45-€50m) amid interest from Inter. We All Follow United covered earlier that Hojlund wants to stay at United and fight for his place under Amorim.
United have to make unpopular decisions in the transfer market as they face big problems at present. The Red Devils cannot act like they used to, providing a haven and numerous chances to young players to thrive.
United finished 15th in the Premier League last season, which cannot become a norm for a club of their stature. Furthermore, financial problems require drastic solutions, and Hojlund is one of the few players who can procure good value.
Even though the price mentioned is half of what United paid for the Denmark forward, it is still a good addition to the budget. United have to move quickly to find the right replacement if this deal happens, and perhaps a more experienced striker would arrive this time.
