Manchester United are scouring the midfield market ahead of the summer transfer window as The Red Devils need to make reinforcements.

Casemiro is coming to the end of his contract with the Brazil international having agreed terms to join Sir David Beckham’s Inter Miami.

Alongside him, Manuel Ugarte is looking more likely to depart with United keen to offload the underperforming midfielder.

As such, The Red Devils are looking to potential new signings, having scouted top midfielders since last summer.

The Telegraph has now reported that United are closely monitoring Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni who is contracted to the Spanish side until 2028.

Manchester United’s interest in Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni

Since arriving in the Spanish capital from AS Monaco in 2022, Touchameni has been a vital player for the La Liga giants, making 190 appearances in centre midfield.

Taking a more defensive role, the 26-year-old has helped them win the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, two UEFA Super Cups, the La Liga and two domestic cups.

Now, looking to the summer, Aurelien Tchouameni is set to be a key member of the France national team hoping to lift the 2026 World Cup.

It’s understood that Madrid could be willing to part ways with their star man if they are successful in their pursuit of Manchester City’s Rodri.

As such a talented midfielder, the France international is being looked to as a strong option to replace Casemiro who’s had his career best season this year.

With eight goals and two assists in 32 Premier League games, Casemiro has been a core part of the United squad, having bounced back to fight for Champions League football.

However, Touchameni isn’t the only option to be considered to reinforce United’s midfield, with two or three signings needed this summer.

Sandro Tonali is still on United’s shortlist alongside Elliot Anderson as proven Premier League midfielders, although the likelihood of signing either of the pair is decreasing.

While Manchester City are firmly frontrunners to sign Anderson, it’s also understood that the interest from United in Tonali is less focused while looking at other options.
