Manchester United Forward Names Lamine Yamal as Potential Teammate

Marcus Rashford’s departure from Manchester United seems to be imminent, with Barcelona leading the race for the talented attacker. 

The La Liga champions recently finalized a deal to acquire Spanish international Nico Williams and many believed that would halt Rashford’s chances of arriving at Camp Nou, but that’s not the case. According to The Peoples Person, Manchester United’s number 10 still believes a move to Barcelona is possible.

The Englishman is said to be willing to make sacrifices to complete the transfer. Rashford recently named a specific player from the Barcelona squad that he would love to play with. 

“Of course, I'd love to play with Lamine Yamal. Everyone wants to play with the best,” Rashford said. “Hopefully... we'll see.”

Manager Hansi Flick wants to have an elite front line. He envisions a starting three of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Nico Williams, but with Lewandowski being towards the end of his career, Flick is looking for depth. Rashford is an excellent piece to have off the bench and there’s potential for him to fill a starting role in a big if he’s needed. 

On the pitch, Rashford brings a dynamic approach with a lot of pace and creativity. He’s known for making explosive runs, skillful dribbling, and a stand-out ability to cut in from the left wing to unleash powerful shots with his right foot.

Because of his versatility, he can play as a winger or a striker, frequently taking advantage of gaps behind defenses with his quick thinking and quickness. 

He was best utilized as the focal point of a Manchester United attack a few seasons ago, with his best statistical years being the 2019 and 2022 Premier League seasons where he scored 17 times each. 

It seems as if both sides want to make the move happen and if that’s the case, Barcelona will be even more dangerous next season.
