It’s been know for some time that Manchester United are undergoing a major shift to ensure the financial sustainability of the club going forwards.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made it a clear priority under his ownership, leading cost-cutting and revenue-generating schemes all across the club.
Last week it was reported that the club still have £422 million to pay on previous transfers, with £238 million due within the next 12 months.
Now, fans have learnt of how it’s going to affect them with the ticket prices for Old Trafford for next year being revealed.
Manchester United have officially taken to their website to explain the season tickets are set to have a 5% increase for the 2026/27 season, making the lowest price adult general admission season ticket cost £646.
It’s understood the rise works out at just over £2 extra per game per adult and £1 per game for Under-16s.
The club did confirm as well that the current consessions for general admission season ticket holders is remaining in place for the upcoming season.
Season ticket holders have to attend at least 16 of the 19 Premier League home games throughout the season, or they can forward the ticket, list it for resale or donate the cost of the seat to keep their ticket active.
The club also confirmed that season ticket holders won’t pay over 1/19th of their season ticket cost for any home match that United play in any domestic or European competition.
United commented that the decision had been made on the back of “constructive discussions” with representatives of the fans on the Fans’ Advisory Board as well as wider supporter groups.
However, this is now the latest impact on season ticket holders, after the section around the dugout at Old Trafford has been turned into a VIP hospitality area to be sold at a higher rate.
