Manchester United have one of the most recognisable identities in world football, with the club crest instantly associated with the Red Devils.

The badge has changed several times throughout United’s history.

Earlier versions were inspired by the Manchester coat of arms before the club gradually developed the design supporters recognise today.

The famous Red Devil first appeared on the Manchester United badge during the 1970s and has since become central to the club’s identity.

That nickname has become so iconic that countless United fan groups and media pages have incorporated the devil into their own branding, including CentreDevils.

Supporters therefore always pay attention whenever United introduce a fresh design or change the appearance of their famous branding.

There is already plenty of excitement around the club’s new look for the 2026/27 season.

United have released their traditional red home shirt and royal blue away kit, while their third strip is due to officially launch on August 14.

Now, another completely new Manchester United design has emerged ahead of the new campaign.

Manchester United introduce fresh design

According to Footy Headlines, Manchester United and official headwear provider New Era have created a new stylised monogram logo.

The design does not replace United’s traditional club crest.

Instead, it ahs been created specifically for a new collection of New Era headwear.

The black embroidered logo weaves the letters “MUFC” together in a vintage gothic-style monogram.

It represents a major change from the traditional crest and the standalone Red Devil icon normally used on United caps.

The new design features prominently on New Era’s 9FORTY adjustable caps and beanies.

Two colourways have initially been released.

One features an off-white cream crown with a black visor, while another comes in red with a black visor.

Both versions display the new MUFC monogram on the front.

The traditional Red Devil remains present on the rear strapback, while New Era’s signature flag appears on the side.

Although Manchester United’s main crest remains unchanged, the new monogram gives supporters another distinctive version of the club’s famous identity.
