Manchester United make inquiry about Myles Lewis-Skelly

Alongside making that all-important final signing in midfield this summer, Manchester United are evidently looking into options at left-back.

The Red Devils are reportedly weighing up a bid for Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall, who appears to be their top target, but they cannot focus on one option and just one option only.

After spending £85 million on Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, United fans will be hoping the club have more than that in their transfer kitty.

The club are yet to truly go out and make a hit signing this window, despite their two in midfield looking promising, and Karl Darlow in goal providing sensible back-up to Senne Lammens.

One player who is reportedly on Manchester United’s shortlist this window is Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The 19-year-old started just five times in the Premier League for the Gunners in the 2025/26 title-winning campaign; however, Lewis-Skelly was picked alongside Declan Rice for the UEFA Champions League Final in the midfield, proving a good performer.

According to The Independent, Manchester United are now investigating as to whether a deal for Myles Lewis-Skelly would be possible, while they press on in attempting to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle.

The Old Trafford hierarchy have a ‘long-standing interest’ in the England international with six senior caps, and are now aiming to find out whether Arsenal will do business.

Another potential object in the way of a transfer for Lewis-Skelly is whether Arsenal sign Manchester United-linked Bruno Guimaraes or not. It’s a situation that could determine whether Mikel Arteta’s side needs their academy product next season.

It’s certainly a situation to keep an eye on, following Manchester United’s inquiry into the availability of Myles Lewis-Skelly.

A player who has already scored for the England senior side at 19 years of age, the full-back who can also play in midfield, could be a great signing for the Red Devils – but it’s clear to see Lewis Hall is a priority.
