Ibrahim Mbaye has emerged as another exciting young talent on Manchester United’s radar as Michael Carrick continues shaping his squad for the future.
The Red Devils have already completed several deals this summer, but their recruitment work has not stopped.
United are still searching for a third midfielder after signing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
However, the club are also monitoring opportunities to recruit high-potential attackers who could develop into first-team stars.
Mbaye certainly fits that profile.
The 18-year-old is a right-footed winger who can operate across the forward line and has already made 42 senior appearances for Paris Saint-Germain.
He scored three goals and provided three assists across all competitions last season, despite not holding down a regular starting place.
Mbaye also impressed at the 2026 World Cup with Senegal.
He played 155 minutes across the tournament, started once and scored against France.
That strike made him the youngest African goalscorer in World Cup history at 18 years and 143 days old.
According to L’Equipe, Manchester United are among several major European clubs to have made a move for Mbaye.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa have also shown interest from England.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are among the Bundesliga clubs pursuing him.
Liverpool and Dortmund are currently believed to have presented the two most attractive projects.
However, Mbaye has not yet decided where he wants to play next season.
PSG are prepared to consider his departure if they receive an acceptable offer, with the winger seeking more regular game time.
The French champions have also discussed the possibility of sanctioning a loan move rather than a permanent exit.
Mbaye joined PSG’s academy in 2018 and later became the youngest player to start an official match for the club.
He was also named the club’s Titi d’Or winner in 2024 before helping PSG win major honours, including Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
United face serious competition, but Mbaye’s combination of first-team experience, international pedigree and enormous potential makes him an understandable target.
