Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo were both called up to England’s squad for the September/October international break, in which the Three Lions play four times.

Thomas Tuchel’s team started their endeavours with a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Spain, before beating Czechia and Croatia in their second and third UEFA Nations League matches.

However, the Manchester United duo failed to take part in any of the matches after withdrawing from the squad due to worries over their fitness.

It means the England squad is without any Red Devils representative, but won’t worry the club too much following their poor start to the Premier League season, as they’ll look to focus on getting the pair back to match readiness at Carrington.

In the youth ranks, Harry Amass, Ayden Heaven, Jack Fletcher, Jim Thwaites, and Shea Lacey were all called up for England’s Under-20s for Euro Elite League matches against Italy, France and Germany.

The five highly-rated Manchester United prospects were picked by Darren Moore for the international window, backing up their high calibres at Old Trafford.

In England’s game against Germany, the Three Lions had the lead on the stroke of half-time, but were sent down to ten men.

United midfielder Jack Fletcher was sent off in the 46th-minute of the match, with England one-nil up.

Despite the setback, Darren Moore’s men held on to win, strengthening their lead in the second half through a Kian Noble goal, before Germany’s goal proved only a consolation.

Four of five of Manchester United’s representatives started the game in Harry Amass, Ayden Heaven, Jack Fletcher and Shea Lacey, while Jim Thwaites was a substitute.

An exciting England setup proved superior in the game, with the 2-1 victory proving vital.

Manchester United fans will be pleased seeing their up and coming stars prove themselves for the country’s national side, and may have spotted a star or two who they hope will get chances for the first-team alongside Ayden Heaven and Shea Lacey this season.
