Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the next generation of European talent as the club looks to build for the future under Ruben Amorim’s scouting influence.
Across the continent, clubs are increasingly monitoring young prospects, particularly those who have already made waves at youth international level.
Premier League sides are moving early to avoid bidding wars next summer, with several teams already approaching agents and families to establish first contact.
Manchester United’s recruitment team has been particularly active this year, blending their traditional scouting network with advanced analytics to identify standout performers under the age of 18.
The race for top teenage talent has intensified, with early movers often securing the best prospects before rivals can react.
In line with that strategy, Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with the camp of Kevin Filling, the 16-year-old striker from AIK Fotboll in Sweden.
It is understood that Manchester United are the first Premier League side to formally approach Filling’s entourage and have begun initial negotiations with a view to a potential move.
AIK are reportedly holding out for a £4.4 million (€5 million) fee, though Swedish media, as reported by Sport Witness, but United are unwilling to meet that valuation at this stage.
The Sweden U18 international, who turns 18 in November 2026, would not be eligible to complete a move to England until that milestone is reached, meaning any transfer would likely be arranged to coincide with his birthday.
Interestingly, Kevin Filling himself has remained cautious about the reports, stating he is not fully aware of the media speculation surrounding his future.
Despite that, Manchester United’s proactive approach shows the club’s intent to secure top young talent ahead of next year’s competitive transfer market.
If a deal is eventually agreed, it would mark a continuation of United’s recent trend of targeting elite teenage forwards from across Europe, combining their academy pathway with carefully considered first-team integration.
