Manchester United prepare bid for Eduardo Camavinga

Manchester United’s midfield rebuild appeared to have reached its conclusion this week.

Carlos Baleba’s arrival was confirmed by the club this week, joining Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos as the summer’s new recruits in the middle of the park.

Bruno Fernandes has already spoken to supporters about the changes taking shape within Michael Carrick’s squad.

That trio appeared to signal the end of United’s business in midfield for this window.

Attention elsewhere, however, has continued to build around a familiar name.

Eduardo Camavinga subject of Manchester United bid

United are preparing to submit a €50million bid for Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, according to El Larguero on YouTube.

The Red Devils have explored a move for the Frenchman throughout the summer amid growing questions over his role at the Bernabeu.

Eduardo Camavinga was offered to United through intermediaries earlier this month, with several other Premier League clubs also informed of his availability.

United and Manchester City were both reportedly in talks over a potential deal last month.

Real Madrid have set a €50million valuation on the 23-year-old amid the growing interest from England.

Reports in Spain, meanwhile, have claimed Camavinga is eager to stay at the Bernabeu and fight for his place.

Camavinga’s game time has been notably limited over the past year, making just eight appearances in La Liga during the 2025/26 season.

An ankle injury sidelined him for over a month at the start of the last campaign, having also battled groin and muscle issues in the years prior.

He has made 192 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid since joining from Rennes in 2021, scoring five goals and providing ten assists.

His versatility has long been one of his most valued attributes, with the France international comfortable playing across midfield as well as at left-back.

That flexibility could prove significant for United, who remain keen on strengthening their options in defence as well as midfield.

Carrick’s side are also monitoring Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde as they continue their search for cover at left-back.

Camavinga’s contract at the Bernabeu runs until 2029, giving Real Madrid little urgency to sell should they choose to resist United’s approach.

Camavinga has won two Champions Leagues, two Spanish Super Cups and a La Liga title since arriving in the Spanish capital.

United’s willingness to pursue a player capable of playing multiple positions suggests defensive reinforcements remain just as much a priority as midfield depth.
