Manchester United reach agreement for Manu Kone

Manu Kone has been increasingly linked with a move to Manchester United in previous weeks with the Red Devils aiming to strengthen ahead of the start of the season.

Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have already made the switch to Old Trafford, signing for the club before the side’s first pre-season fixture against Wrexham last weekend where Santos featured.

Kone, on the other hand, has been planted at the centre of increasing speculation. Reports last week suggested that Manchester United were preparing to submit an improved bid for the 25-year-old although no official confirmation has arisen yet.

Further reports have implied that the club are strongly considering a move for the midfielder although are also contemplating switching their focus towards Carlos Baleba.

New updates have now emerged with Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport revealing that Manchester United remains the club that is most likely to sign the midfielder currently.

The outlet have also stated that, although contact is ongoing between Manchester United and representatives from Roma, a deal has already been reached in principle between the parties.

A offer close to €50m is also being prepared, according to the outlet, aligning with reports previously that had suggested United were preparing an improved bid.

Others still remain interested, however, with Corriere dello Sport reporting that Atletico Madrid, Al-Ahli, and Chelsea have all not given up on the matter yet and are continuing their pursuit.

With movement now emerging, the club look to be moving in the right direction for signing Manu Kone.

Manchester United and Roma will continue their negotiations, as both parties aim to reach an agreement that fits the desires of all, whilst Kone may be preparing for a move to England.
