Manchester United host Brentford tonight at Old Trafford, with a chance to tighten their grip on a Champions League spot.

Michael Carrick’s team are coming off a 1-0 win against Chelsea and will now look for a strong win at home as the season finishes up.

United currently sit in third place with 58 points, and are level with both Liverpool and Aston Villa. With the Premier League season ending soon, getting a win tonight would help the Red Devils hold onto that third spot.

A victory here would also help Michael Carrick’s case for the permanent job, following a run of 8 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws since taking over from Ruben Amorim.

Brentford are 9th in the league with 48 points and have drawn their last five matches in a row.

Keith Andrews’ side has earned 20 points away from home this season, with a record of six wins, two draws, and eight losses.

With games against Manchester City and Liverpool still to play, they need a win tonight to help stay in the top half of the table.

Leny Yoro is expected to be back for Manchester United after an injury that kept the centre-back out of the Chelsea match.

Harry Maguire is also expected to be back after serving a two-match suspension.

Matheus Cunha could also be unavailable following scans earlier this week.

As for Brentford, Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo, Vitaly Janelt, Rico Henry, Joshua Dasilva, Jordan Henderson, and Kaye Furo are all out of the match at Old Trafford due to injury.
