Elo Onuchukwu has emerged as a new Manchester United target as the club continue strengthening Michael Carrick’s squad.
United have focused heavily on midfield reinforcements during the summer transfer window.
The club have already completed deals for Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
However, their work in that position is not finished.
United are continuing to explore the market for a third midfielder as Carrick looks to add greater control and depth to his team.
Recruitment chiefs are also open to adding new forwards and defenders if suitable opportunities emerge.
The club have already strengthened other areas by signing former Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
United also recruited highly-rated winger Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur as part of their continued investment in younger talent.
That strategy has brought several promising players to Carrington in recent years.
David Eze and Karim Cassim also completed moves from Manchester City today.
Now, another talented attacker has attracted interest from United and several Premier League rivals.
Onuchukwu is a highly-rated Under-14 winger who recently deregistered from Leicester City’s academy.
He had been with Leicester since Under-7 level and regularly played two age groups above his own.
The youngster is regarded as one of the country’s leading players born in 2012.
His potential has already earned recognition away from club football, with Onuchukwu previously signing a sponsorship agreement with Nike.
According to reliable academy account The Talent Hunter on X, Manchester United are showing significant interest in signing him.
However, United face major competition for his signature.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested, while several other leading Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation.
Onuchukwu is now available following his departure from Leicester, giving interested teams an opportunity to add him to their academy.
United have become increasingly aggressive when recruiting elite youngsters from rival clubs.
Their interest in Onuchukwu suggests that approach will continue as INEOS attempt to build a strong pathway from the academy into Carrick’s first team.
