Marcus Rashford has been enjoying his move to Spain, with loan spell at Camp Nou being a remarkable success.

The Manchester United attacker has been one of Barcelona’s top goal contributors, registering 10 goals and 13 assists in 36 games.

As such, the reigning La Liga champions are looking to trigger Rashford’s option to buy clause of £26 million, with recent reports suggesting that personal terms have already been agreed.

However, new reports from BBC Sport state quite the opposite.

The report explains that sources close to Marcus Rashford have explained that no agreement is in place as of yet.

It’s understood that further negotiations are needed, especially as Rashford would be leaving a £325,000 per week contract at Old Trafford.

That’s where the main issue could lie, with his wage.

Barcelona have struggled with financial issues for some time, regularly struggling to register players under the financial rules, an issue that affected Rashford at the start of the season.

As such, it’s unlikely that they would agree to match his United wage long-term, seeing the attacker face taking a pay cut.

However, Barcelona do have something in their favour, with the transfer to the Spanish side being a dream move for Rashford, and the fact that he’s excelling only adds to the experience.

With such conflicting reports, it’s unknown where Barcelona are at with an agreement with Rashford, however their intentions are clear, they want to keep the England international.

Given that his fee is set at £26 million, it’s a big step down from the £40 million that was agreed with his loan to Aston Villa in winter 2025, making him an absolute bargain.

For now, there’s still three months of his loan left, giving plenty of time for negotiations to take place, with Rashford’s agent having recently been seen in the Spanish city.
