Mason Greenwood set to join Fenerbache

Mason Greenwood is set to leave Marseille, with Fenerbahce now closing in on a deal for the English winger.

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Marseille are set to receive €40 million plus bonuses, while Greenwood will sign a four-year contract with the Turkish side.

The report adds that Fenerbahce have held separate discussions with Manchester United, who are due to receive their share from the 40 per cent sell-on clause negotiated during Greenwood’s move to Marseille.

Greenwood only joined Marseille in the summer of 2024 after leaving Manchester United, quickly establishing himself as one of the standout performers in Ligue 1.

His form also attracted interest from elsewhere, with Atletico Madrid making a bid for the attacker before ultimately turning their attention to other targets.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, earning a place in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year after playing a key role in Marseille’s season.

In the league, he scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 32 matches.

Should the move be completed, Manchester United will also benefit financially thanks to the 40 per cent sell-on clause negotiated when Mason Greenwood left Old Trafford two years ago.

Fenerbahce are now expected to finalise the remaining details before officially announcing Greenwood as one of their marquee signings ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

With an agreement now close, attention will turn to completing the final paperwork and medical formalities.

If everything proceeds as expected, Greenwood will begin the next chapter of his career in Turkey, while Marseille and Manchester United both stand to benefit financially from the transfer.
