Mason Greenwood has been on a journey since leaving Manchester United last year to join Marseille on a permanent basis.

Since joining the Ligue 1 outfit, Greenwood, who made 129 appearances for United in his time at Old Trafford, has scored 33 times in 53 matches.

As well as this, the player was placed on the wishlist of Inter Milan in the summer.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo after Ronaldo expressed a desire to reunite with Greenwood.

Meanwhile, on the field, Mason Greenwood matched the feat of Jean-Pierre Papin through scoring four goals in one game.

Following this, the former Manchester United player won the Ligue 1 award for Player of the Month for October but also sparked a mass brawl in one of Marseille’s games following a goal.

Finally, most recently, Greenwood was awarded the badge for top scorer in Ligue 1, something he will wear on his jersey.

Arguably, this marks a major step in his development and career and shows the work that he has put in.

Now, with the January transfer window on then horizon, Mason Greenwood has been eyed by a Serie A giant.

According to Calcio Mercato, many clubs have their eye on Greenwood.

However, the source named Napoli as one of the clubs interested in the Ligue 1 top scorer.

Furthermore, the outlet have claimed that the current Serie A champions had already made an attempt to sign Greenwood in the past.

But, the outlet have also stated that the 24-year-old’s valuation is now above €60 million, a figure few clubs can afford.

With this news now revealed, attention could turn towards Naples to see if any approach is made.

If there is one, Greenwood could reunite with other former United players such as Scott McTominay as Napoli strive for success.
