Mason Mount offered to AC Milan
USA TODAY Sports

Mason Mount has just finished his third full season at Manchester United since his move from Chelsea during the 2023 summer transfer window.

The midfielder, who came through the Blues’ youth academy set-up, has made 72 appearances for United in his time at Old Trafford so far, scoring seven goals.

In each of his three campaigns with the club, however, Mount has never made more than thirty appearances in all competitions.

He also had limited game-time towards the end of last season as manager Michael Carrick guided the club towards a third place finish, something that ensured that the club would qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Manchester United’s loss of Casemiro this summer, who looks set to join Inter Miami during the transfer window, has sparked a new recruitment drive in the middle of the park.

Milan Press now report, with that in mind, that Mount has been offered to AC Milan whilst also revealing that the Englishman feels out of place in Michael Carrick’s project at Old Trafford currently.

Ruben Amorim recently took over at the club as head coach and has already given his green light for negotiations to begin according to these latest reports.

Amorim and Mount worked closely together at Manchester United during the manager’s spell at Old Trafford.

Now at AC Milan, the Portuguese manager is looking to enact positive change through his leadership and recruitment.

The manager has already made his first signing with the club activating the buy-back clause of Francesco Camara, a move that will see him return at the start of next month.

Amorim is also expected to break AC Milan’s record transfer fee in a deal for Goncalo Ramos, a move which is projected to be the most expensive in Serie A since Romelu Lukaku made the switch to Inter Milan from Manchester United in 2019.

Mason Mount currently has two years left on his contract and could be on his way out after three years in England with United.
