Mason Mount has continued his preparations for the new season.
The Manchester United midfielder was recently spotted working alongside a former Liverpool coach.
The sighting comes at an interesting time given Liverpool recently decided to part ways with Arne Slot despite the Dutchman winning the Premier League title in his first season.
They replaced him with former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola.
Mount, however, remains fully focused on Manchester United and has been stepping up his individual training programme ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The English international featured in United’s final Premier League game of last season.
He impressed in a midfield pivot alongside Kobbie Mainoo during the club’s 3-0 victory over Brighton.
Images posted on Instagram by King Performance Ideology showed Mason Mount undertaking an intense session ahead of the new campaign.
The post was collaborated with by Dr Tom King, a performance coach who previously worked as Liverpool’s first-team fitness coach.
According to his Instagram profile, King is the owner of King Performance Ideology and also holds a PhD in Applied Sports Science, with the specialist having worked with a number of elite-level athletes.
Mount will be hoping that the extra work pays dividends after another season disrupted by injury concerns.
The 27-year-old has shown flashes of his quality since arriving at Old Trafford.
However, recurring issues have limited his impact.
As a result, a full pre-season could prove crucial for the midfielder as Michael Carrick prepares for his first full campaign in permanent charge of Manchester United.
This is not the first time Mount has looked outside Carrington for additional training sessions either.
Earlier this month, seventh-tier side Chatham Town officially confirmed that the United midfielder had been using their facilities as part of his off-season preparations.
Supporters will now hope that Mount can carry this hard work into the new season and finally enjoy an extended run of games in a United shirt.
