Calum McFarlane has a squad very short of attackers right now, and he was asked about some injuries post-game.

Speaking after the game against Liverpool today, which saw Chelsea change formation to compensate for a lack of attacking option, interim manager Calum McFarlane answered questions about Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho, two players he’s hoping to have back soon.

“Yeah, we are very hopeful,” McFarlane said of his chances of getting his two left wing options back.

“You have to take these things day by day. We’re hoping that they’ll be available, but we don’t know at this moment in time. They’re going to get back into training, see how they feel, see how it looks. So, fingers crossed.”

Wingers on positive course to return for Chelsea in FA Cup final

Given that both injuries were described as “knocks” before Monday’s game, and the pair will have had almost two weeks to recover after that, we’d be surprised if both of them are still out come next weekend. But either way, it looks like a race to get them back in time to be in condition to actually start the game this weekend.

Levi Colwill was superb for Chelsea this afternoon, and he racked up some seriously impressive stats for the Blues.

Marc Cucurella claimed that he and his teammates weren’t happy with a draw today – they were close to a win and wanted it badly.
