Lionel Messi scores another brace for Inter Miami in the MLS as the Herons defeated the New York Red Bulls 5-1. Inter Miami were trailing in the first 15 minutes of the match, but after the equalizer, the game turned completely.
Messi's two goals came in the second half after providing a brilliant assist for Jordi Alba in the first half. His two goals make him the top goalscorer of the MLS as he reaches 18 goals.
A perfect pass if we've ever seen one.

Despite no longer competing with Cristiano Ronaldo in the same league, Messi continues the 'football rivalry' between the two legends as his goals overtook a record the Portuguese player held.

Messi reached 764 goals from open play and is now above Ronaldo's 763 goals from open play.
The two stars are no longer competing for the Ballon d'Or, but this record seems like the last challenge the two will battle for until the end of their respective careers.
Ronaldo is expected to continue playing professional football for two more years, while Messi is expected to play for at least one more year. Ronaldo and Al Nassr's season begins in August.
The NY Red Bulls took the lead in the 15th minute after a corner kick. Messi gave a perfect pass to Alba in the 24th minute that led to the equalizer.
Just three minutes later, Inter Miami took the lead as Telasco Segovia scored the team's second. Before halftime, Segovia scored his second of the game to make it 3-1 for Inter Miami.
