New Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu keeps Hakan Calhanoglu in high regard but has doubts about Davide Frattesi.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Chivu sees the Turkish playmaker as a vital part of his midfield.

Despite being heavily linked with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray in the summer, Hakan Calhanoglu has stayed at San Siro.

Furthermore, he will, in all likelihood, continue to be one of Inter’s most influential players under new management.

New Inter Milan Boss Chivu Trusts Calhanoglu & Omits Frattesi

Unlike Calhanoglu, Davide Frattesi had a bit-part role during Simone Inzaghi’s tenure.

Therefore, he was keen to leave Inter for regular first-team football, only for Inzaghi’s exit to change his mind.

Indeed, Chivu’s arrival had promised to turn the Italian star’s fortunes around.

However, it may not be the case.

Frattesi seemed like a perfect fit for Chivu’s 3-4-2-1 system, yet the ex-Sassuolo ace has yet to make his debut under the Romanian.

Additionally, the arrivals of Petar Sucic and Andy Diouf threaten to derail his first-team opportunities even further.
