Matteo Gabbia underlined Milan’s growing confidence under Massimiliano Allegri, insisting the squad feel united, motivated and fully aware of the standards required at the club.
Speaking after another intense week of preparation, with quotes via Sky Sport Italia, the defender said every session has reinforced what the coach expects and how determined the group is to show real continuity after a difficult spell earlier in the campaign.
Gabbia stressed that derby victories always carry extra weight for a Milan player, noting that “every derby is special, especially if you have the quality and the good fortune to win it.”
He explained that the squad have been working heavily in recent days because maintaining momentum is essential for their ambitions.
He also pointed to the harmony within the dressing room, saying Milan are “a healthy group” who feel aligned with Fonseca’s demands.
That connection, he added, is helping the team improve collectively.
And for Gabbia personally, wearing the Rossoneri shirt brings its own responsibility: “This shirt demands we always fight.”
The centre-back reiterated his hunger to grow, saying he has “always had the desire and ambition to become an important player,” while accepting there is still room to develop.
With confidence rising and the squad pushing together, he hopes this season can turn into “a beautiful year.”
