Reports in Italy confirm that Milan are finalising the last remaining documents required to complete a deal for Genoa centre-back Koni De Winter, after agreeing to sell Malick Thiaw to Premier League side Newcastle for a fee of €40m including bonuses.

As was reported by various outlets on Sunday evening, Milan have struck a deal with Genoa to sign former Juventus Next Gen centre-back De Winter for a total cost of €25m, which includes a €20m fixed fee.

He is the expected replacement for Thiaw, who is ready to complete his €40m transfer to Newcastle

According to updates from Sky Sport Italia, Milan are now finalising the last documents required to formalise De Winter’s transfer.

When will De Winter have his Milan medical?

It is expected that the Belgian will be in the city of Milan for a medical on Tuesday (August 12). His contract signing and announcement of the transfer would then follow shortly afterwards.

The 23-year-old will become the sixth new arrival in what has been an impressive transfer window for the Rossoneri given that they have no European football to offer this season. He follows Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci, Pervis Estupinan and Pietro Terracciano through the entrance at San Siro.
