Milan are hard at work to bring in new additions before the end of the summer transfer window, and reports on Sunday claim that the Rossoneri are due for a new round of talks with the player’s mother and agent Veronique later on in the day.
The Rossoneri midfield is set for another reshuffle this summer: New signing Ardon Jashari is out for around eight weeks with a fractured fibula, which had temporarily halted the sale of Yunus Musah to Atalanta. The Musah deal is now reportedly back on track, but that leaves Milan one short in the middle of the park.
Massimiliano Allegri’s first choice has always been Rabiot, as Alfredo Pedullà reported at the start of the week.
According to updates from Calciomercato.com, Allegri, along with Milan directors Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani spoke after the news of the injury to Jashari to discuss their options, and the situation remains the same: Allegri wants Rabiot.
The former Juventus midfielder is up for sale after a fight with former teammate Jonathan Rowe, who has since joined Bologna. Both players were told they were no longer part of the club’s plans as a result of the incident.
Now, Milan are attempting to bring Rabiot back to Serie A. It is believed that Marseille are seeking a fee in the region of €15m.
The Frenchman reportedly earns around €5m per season on his current deal in Ligue 1, and Sunday’s reports claim that his agent will seek a similar arrangement when the new round of talks with Milan take place on Sunday.
