La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Milan are offering €50m to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and could beat Arsenal after meeting with his agents.

The centre-forward has been mentioned several times in recent weeks as their number one target to replace Olivier Giroud, who is heading to LAFC as a free agent from July 1.

There was a huge hint that something was moving fast when Sesko’s agency Pro Transfer posted a clip on their Instagram Stories showing them in the famous Milanese landmark of the Galleria.

Now La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that the meeting with Milan directors went well and they could also be in the stands for this evening’s game against Cagliari at San Siro.

It is reported the offer on the table for RB Leipzig is worth €50m, which was the original release clause in his contract.

However, that might no longer be sufficient, as his performances have seen the clause increase to €65m and it could get as high as €73m by the end of the season.

Charm offensive on Sesko

Milan are clearly hoping to convince Sesko and his agents first, so they will be allies in ensuring he gets the move to the Rossoneri rather than what is probably going to be a more lucrative proposal from Arsenal.

Sesko is a Slovenia international who turns 21 later this month and already has 11 goals in 27 senior caps for his country.

The tall centre-forward found the net 16 times in 40 appearances for RB Leipzig this season, along with two assists.
