While Milan finally send Mattia Liberali to Catanzaro after chaos behind the scenes, they refuse to loan Ismael Bennacer to Olympique Marseille again.
Liberali was a youth academy product who wanted more regular playing time to develop his career, knowing he wouldn’t get that at San Siro, nor their Milan Futuro team following the relegation to Serie D.
An agreement was all set for him to join Catanzaro for a nominal fee, the Rossoneri receiving a 50 per cent cut of his future sale.
The brakes were slammed on amid reports of in-fighting behind the scenes, as Giorgio Furlani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were against this move, whereas Igli Tare and crucially Liberali pushed for it to be finalised.
Liberali won that argument, as he arrived at the airport this afternoon to complete the transfer to Serie B side Catanzaro.
Meanwhile, le10sport in France claim that Olympique Marseille asked to take Bennacer on loan again after he already spent last season with them.
The Serie A side turned down that proposal, as they only want to sell the Algeria international on a permanent basis.
