Reports in Italy claim that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has come to a decision on his future plans and that he is set to stay on with Scudetto-winners Inter for the 2026-27 season.
The 37-year-old midfielder will be out of contract on June 30, but Inter have allowed the Armenian to make up his own mind on whether to retire at the end of the 2025-26 campaign or to stay on with the club for another season.
Despite his age, Mkhitaryan has proved that he is still a useful member of Cristian Chivu’s squad, and also brings plenty of experience when Inter are set to lose some of the elder statesmen of their dressing room this summer in Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian and Yann Sommer.
He took part in 39 matches across all competitions in 2025-26, chipping in with four goals and three assists from the middle of the park.
And now, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Mkhitaryan has decided to stay on with Inter for another season. He is expected to meet with the club in the near future to discuss the financial details of a new contract.
