Luka Modric says goodbye to Real Madrid on social media before joining Milan: ‘It’s not a goodbye.’
Croatian legend Modric bid farewell to Real Madrid with an Instagram post on Saturday night.
“My home for 13 years. My home forever. This is not a goodbye, it’s a see you later,” Modric wrote on social media, posting several pictures of his successful spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Football Italia reported in June that Modric would sign a one-year contract with Milan, with an option to extend to 2027.
The Rossoneri will announce his signing in the coming days, but several members of the club, from director Igli Tare to new signing Samuele Ricci, have already confirmed that Modric would move to San Siro this summer.
Milan have already begun pre-season preparations under new coach Massimiliano Allegri, starting training at the club’s centre, Milanello, on July 7.
Milan have already scheduled five pre-season friendlies, including those against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
They will make their 2025-26 debut on August 17 in a Coppa Italia match against Bari.
